Chatsworth Country Fair would not be complete without the fun and games of mad little terriers and assorted other breeds chasing old Zimmer Francis up and down the ring. In 1986 the Terrier Roadshow racing team became part of the grand ring programme at Chatsworth and remained on the bill until 2005 when the team made the decision to retire, as all of the canine stars as well as Adrian were getting a bit “long in the tooth”. The organisers were pleased that the Grand Ring programme could once again have the gravity it deserves.
Whether they resigned or were sacked is no longer important, as unfortunately they couldn't resist a come-back. So twenty six years later we're stuck with this Crazy Gang, who are back in town with the “Chatsworth Search for a Star”. This is an invitation from old croaky-voice Zimmer to find a new “star” of the terrier racing world for 2012. However it needn't be a terrier, as the show is open to anything from a Chihuahua to a Great Dane, so this is your chance for you and your dog to be part of the show, join in the fun and -who knows? - it could be you and your pet that becomes the “Star of the Show“.
Do remember to bring along your own dogs – any shape, any size, any breed – so they can take part in the mad charge across the arena.
