Chatsworth Country Fair 2011
Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th September
Vintage Cars
Situated on the approach road to the Stables. Organised by David Hill. Grand Ring Parade Saturday and Sunday.
Sponsored by Sally Botham Estates
Chatsworth is proud to host every year a large, top-quality collection of Vintage Cars on the Saturday and Sunday, with a reduced display on the Friday. One of the largest gatherings in the Midlands calendar, it constitues one of the "shows within the show" at the Country Fair.
Once again members of the Vintage Sports Car Club and other historic vehicle clubs will display their cars. “Vintage” cars are those manufactured from 1919 - 1930; certain cars built in the vintage tradition from 1931 to 1939 are known as “post vintage thoroughbreds” and others from the same era are classed as “pre-war classics”.
All the cars on display at Chatsworth are built before 1940. Some are fairly original but most will have undergone extensive restoration, the majority done by their owners involving hundreds of hours of work. They are in regular use, some for shows and charity events, others for competitive rallying and racing.
Their owners are happy to talk to you and to share their enthusiasm with you if you go to visit them.
