Chatsworth Country Fair 2011
Solo Piping 3rd and 4th September
Pipe Band and Drum Majors Competitions Sunday 4th September only
Massed Pipe Bands in the Grand Ring at 5.00 pm on Sunday
The Pipe Band Competition Ring is situated beside the road, near the house wall.
The Solo Piping Ring is immediately west of Queen Mary's Bower.
Organised by the London and South of England Branch of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association.
Sunday is our day for Pipe Bands at Chatsworth. Competitions for Grades II, III and IV are held throughout the day in the Pipe Band Ring near the house and all bands are expected to join in the Massed Pipe Bands in the Grand Ring in the evening - truly a stirring sight. Prizes are much sought after, and are presented by our Chieftain for the day.
To have over fifteen bands saluting the Chieftain with Hielan' Laddie and marching off to Scotland the Brave and the Green Hills of Tirol is always one of the most colourful and musical highlights of Chatsworth Country Fair.
